FF&E design consultancy, manufacture, supply & fit-out of Salford-based secondary school.

Chalk played a pivotal role in the development of a cutting-edge secondary school project designed to accommodate 750 students aged 11 to 16. Embracing Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), our multifaceted consultancy services covered the entire spectrum from concept to installation.



Comprehensive FF&E Consultancy:
Our team provided end-to-end support for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E), ensuring a seamless integration of functional and aesthetic elements throughout the school.

Concept to Technical Design Excellence:
From the initial DfE Expression of Interest (EoI) phase to detailed technical design, our expertise guided the project through a meticulous design process, ensuring both innovation and practicality. Chalk was appointed by Wates as support partner to deliver the entire CEM programme.

Specialist Joinery:
The inclusion of bespoke joinery showcased our commitment to crafting unique and tailored woodwork elements, adding a distinctive touch to the school’s interiors. All bespoke joinery was designed and manufactured in house.


Full Fixed & Loose Supply, Manufacture, and Install:
Managing the entire supply chain, manufacturing process, and on-site installation, we delivered a turnkey solution for both fixed and loose elements, minimising project complexities.

Utilising 3D BIM Environment:
Our forward-thinking approach involved working in a 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) environment, leveraging technology to enhance project visualisation, coordination, and efficiency. Our BEP execution met all DE and DIER outputs.


Coordinated FF&E product and finish selection

Working closely with the STAR Academy Trust, our design team actively collaborated to curate a schedule of FF&E; we developed a palette of finishes that not only aligned with STAR standards but also provided the optimal solution for the specified layouts. Our close working relationship built upon lessons learned and imbedded a technical output that will act as an FFE blueprint going forwards.



The successful completion of this project stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, functional, and technologically advanced solutions.
