Barnfield College is a further education college located in Luton, Bedfordshire. In 2019, the college successfully completed the construction of a new state-of-the-art campus, providing students with modern facilities and cutting-edge resources. As part of the final phase of the project, Chalk was commissioned to undertake stakeholder engagement, to define the brief and develop the FF&E design, to fully maximise the college's requirements for bespoke learning environments.

Chalk was engaged to provide interior design and fit-out services,working closely with the Retained Consultants, Equals, the college, andthe design team to ensure the successful delivery of the scheme.

Our solution

Chalk approached the project with an innovative and collaborative approach, working closely with Barnfield College to fully understand their needs. The team developed a range of bespoke options, using a variety of materials and finishes to create modern, stylish and functional spaces. From lecture theatres and classrooms to breakout areas and libraries, each space was tailored to specific needs.

The outcome

The results of the project were outstanding with the bespoke furniture and fittings created by Chalk helping to transform the college's new campus into a modern and stimulating learning environment. The attention to detail and high quality of workmanship were evident throughout, from smart shelving in the library to the comfortable lecture theatre seating. The college achieved its goal of providing students with modern facilities and cutting-edge resources, while remaining within budget and on time delivery.
