Brief

The project involved the redevelopment of the existing Barnfield College, part of the West Herts College Group, into one Campus providing scope for future growth.

The Phase 2 works included the design and build of a four storey concrete frame specialist construction and engineering teaching block, providing teaching spaces, staff spaces and breakout areas including landscaping, car parking and external walkways.

Chalk initiated a comprehensive FF&E design programme of works, engaging closely with the College and Architect to develop initial designs and specifications. Multiple site visits to the Hemel Hempstead Campus informed the approach, ensuring alignment with student and staff needs.

The meticulously developed designs incorporated stakeholder requirements, with Chalk presenting a detailed FF&E finishes and specification proposal that was well-received and promptly implemented with the project completing in December 2024.
